Waxing Etiquette

APPOINTMENTS

All treatments are by appointment only and for insurance purposes I cannot accommodate more than one person at a time, so you won’t be able to bring your friends or children with you.
The appointment can be made by telephone, text, email or filling in the booking form on the website. If I am unable to answer your call it’s because I am doing a waxing treatment, so please leave your name and mobile number and I will call you back. Alternatively you can text / email.

PERSONAL HYGIENE

Please arrive for your appointment freshly showered and if possible have a gentle exfoliation a few days before to prepare the skin by removing any dead skin cells and priming the hair.

If you are coming straight from work, don’t worry as you will be given the opportunity to use freshen up wipes prior to your waxing treatment.

WHY WAX?

Nowadays more and more men and women from all professions and ages get waxed, the reasons are really personal, but there is nothing more liberating than being hair free! It enhances intimate pleasure as it heightens sensitivity, it feels and looks amazing, it’s more hygienic and it enhances muscle definition, eliminates stubble growth, plus, why shave every day when you can be hair free for weeks.

IS THERE ANY REASON WHY I COULDN’T GET WAXED?

If you have been using Roaccutane you must wait 6 months since you finished your medication before getting waxed.
If you have a contagious skin condition please wait until it has completely cleared up.
I cannot remove hair from areas that have been treated with steroid cream Retina-A, Differing, Glycolic Acid or other acne products in the last 3 months.
You should always disclose prior to your waxing any medical condition, medication, creams or allergies you have. All information is confidential.

HOW LONG DOES THE HAIR NEED TO BE?

A minimum of 3 to 4 weeks of hair growth or 1/2 cm hair length is needed to get the best results regardless how you have been removing your hair previously.

HOW LONG WILL A WAXING LAST?

The typical result lasts from three to four weeks. One of the greatest things about waxing is that your hair will grow slower, sparser and finer, but please remember that it can take up to 4 waxing treatments spaced evenly apart to get the hair onto the same growth cycle that will get you the best results.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET WAXED?

For best results I recommend coming in every 4 to 5 weeks, but the choice is yours, how smooth and hair free you want to be.

DOES IT HURT?

Yes, a little bit, but not as much as you would expect and only for a couple of seconds as my technique is quick, most people are surprised how easy it is and the discomfort reduces further with regular waxing. If you have never been waxed before or in a long time, you can help by trimming your hair to approximately half an inch as the longer the hair is, the more it will hurt.
Shaved hair is much stronger and tougher to remove, so please stop shaving. Also, if you are a first time waxer I certainly wouldn’t recommend a full body wax, but just start with a small area first and then move on to adding more. Waxing is much quicker and comfortable if it’s maintained on a regular basis.

I’M STILL A BIT NERVOUS

You are in good hands with me! I am experienced and highly trained, I’ve been waxing all my life and I love my job! Plus, I use the new generation waxes and the best professional products on the market.

CAN I GET WAXED IF IM PREGNANT?

All waxing including intimate waxing is normal and not harmful all throughout your pregnancy up to due date.

CAN I BE WAXED IF I’M MENSTRUATING?

Yes, you can, you may only be a bit more sensitive during menstruation.

WILL MY SKIN GET ANY REACTIONS?

Back and chest are areas the usually break out after waxing, especially if you get such a reaction after shaving. You will find that regular waxing and at home aftercare will minimise reactions.

INTIMATE WAXING

Please note that if you are having intimate waxing you will need to strip from the waist down in order to get the perfect wax. I use hot wax also known as non strip wax only for these areas, that is applied with a wooden spatula on the skin, in a thick layer and as it sets, it shrink wraps the hair. This method is much more comfortable than using strip wax.

PUNCTUALITY

Sometimes I might have clients booked before and after your appointment, so it is important that you arrive on time. If you are early please text me just in case I’m free, if you are running late for your appointment and I have a client booked afterwards I might either offer you a reduced time or suggest you to re book.
Offering a quality service to all my clients is important and in order to do this we all need to respect the appointment times.

CANCELLATION POLICY

I appreciate that at times clients need to reschedule or cancel appointments as things happen in everyday life. Unlike other salons, I do not charge for the cancelled appointment, however I ask that you give me a minimum 24 hours notice, this way I may be able to offer the appointment to another client.

For new clients who cancel on the day of their appointment and for existing clients who cancel two appointments on the day, I do not accept any other pre-booked appointments and recommend that you call on the day and check for availability.

Please note I can only accept bookings for treatments above £25.

PAYMENT

There are no card facilities, so payment is preferred in cash only.
