It is perfectly normal for your skin to react after waxing and become raised with red bumps. In order to minimise this reaction and help the skin return to normal as quickly as possible I recommend that for 24 hours after your waxing utreatment you avoid:

~ Sunbathing or any other heat treatments such as steam room, sun beds, hot baths, hot showers. Water should be lukewarm.

~ Going to the gym or doing any kind of sports

~ Swimming in chlorinated pools.

~ Wearing tight clothes or touching excessively the waxed area as this will irritate your skin.

~ Spray tans or self tanning lotions.

~ Wearing deodorants, body perfumes or make up on the waxed areas.

~ Gently exfoliate the area a few days after your waxing treatment using a good exfoliating cloth and continue to do so twice a week with your favourite skin care product. I provide my clients with this free exfoliating wash cloth that will remove all the dead skin cells and residue, leaving the skin smooth and glowing.

~ Moisturise the waxed area with baby oil right after showering and dry yourself with the towel as normal to keep the skin supple and help allow the new hair to break through.

If you’ve never been waxed before or in a very long time, you may notice some regrowth relatively quickly after your very first waxing treatment (a couple of weeks). This is completely normal and it may take up to 3 or 4 waxing treatments spaced 4 weeks apart to get your hair onto the same cycle of growth which will then lead to great results. Please do not shave between your waxing appointments as tempting as it may be as this will interfere with the growth cycle and leave you with stubble. In the meantime if you need to get in touch please don’t hesitate to email or call.
